Disney Channel has just announced that "Good Luck Charlie" has been renewed for a second season!

We're not huge fans of the show, but we do watch it when it's on. And we love Bridgit Mendler, so this news is a-okay with us!

Jason Dolley Talks "Good Luck Charlie"

Walt Disney Studios' D23 Expo - Day 4

Disney Channel's next original series, "Good Luck Charlie", is their first family sitcom that is aimed at the family unit, rather than just children. One of the series' stars, Jason Dolley, is chatting about the series, and we're getting really excited about the premiere!

"When I read the script for the first time, it just had this authentic feel to it and had a Full House kind of feel," the 18-year-old says. "When I read it, I was like, ‘Wow, this is for Disney Channel. This is something that families can sit down together and watch. Everybody would laugh and enjoy it and want to watch the next one.’ I think that’s what is really unique about the show and what is really cool about it."

For those who don't know, "Good Luck Charlie" is about a family readjusting to life after the arrival of a new daughter. It's not always easy to work with children, especially babies. But Jason explains that Mia Talerico, who plays baby Charlie, is "amazing. She is hands down the greatest television baby ever seen or heard of. It’s almost like she reads the script. We’ll get into a scene and whatever is on the script that she is supposed to do, she does it. It’s kind of freaky," he says, laughing. "She’s just adorable and loves everyone on the set. She’ll come down the hallway on set and everyone will stop and say hi to her and she waves. She’s so cute and awesome to work with."

"Good Luck Charlie", which also stars "Wizards"'s Bridgit Mendler, premieres TOMORROW, April 4, at 8:30pm on Disney Channel. Be sure to watch!

"Good Luck Charlie" Premieres April 4

Disney has confirmed that their next sitcom, "Good Luck Charlie", starring Bridgit Mendler and Jason Dolley, will premiere on the Disney Channel on April 4. That's so soon!

The show centers around three sibling who care for their newborn sister. Disney Channel Worldwide President of Entertainment Gary Marsh explained, "What we really want to do is set up a true family sitcom that has kids and family storylines as a way to flex the brand,. For many years we lived in a world of high concept shows — a girl who is a secret pop star, a girl who has psychic abilities — but this is very low concept, traditional sitcom, and the comedy comes from the reality of the characters that we built."

Well said! Finally, we won't have to deal with a show about "an ordinary kid with an extraordinary life!"

Glittering Gold!

Onitsuka Tiger's Record Release Party For Selena Gomez And The Scene

Wow! Selena Gomez looks amazing in that dress!

Last night, Selena celebrated the release of her band's new record Kiss & Tell. On the other side of the fashion spectrum would be "Suite Life" star Debby Ryan, who doesn't look as fabulous (sorry!).

The Official(?) Disney Channel Games 2008 List

We've been wondering just who will show up at the Disney Channel Games. And we were pretty accurate.

Miley Cyrus will somehow appear in the games. She will be performing but maybe not playing.

Other "Hannah Montana" stars that will play are Jason Earles and Moises Arias. (What!? No Emily Osment or Mitchel Musso?).

From Camp Rock, we have the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Alyson Stoner, Jasmine Richards, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, and Roshon Fegen.

The Cheetah Girls and One World costar Kunal Sharma will also participate.

Selena Gomez, Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, and David Henrie ("Wizards of Waverly Place"), Dylan and Cole Sprouse and Brenda Song ("The Suite Life of Zack and Cody"), and Kyle Massey and Jason Dolley ("Cory in the House") will also play in the games.

Like last year, Disney Channel stars from around the world will play, too. Countries that will be sending out troops are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada*, Japan, Mexico, France, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.

* = Canada doesn't have a Disney Channel. They have the Family Channel which might as well be the Disney Channel since it's like the same thing. But "Life With Derek" stars are sure to be the Canadians coming.

There are no High School Musical stars, as the games film in May and they are all off in Utah.

We can't be 100% this is accurate but it seems true enough.

Forbes Top 8

Forbes has just come out with a list of Eight Hot Kid Stars to Watch. Obviously, an overwhelming amount of them were from Disney Channel, but there were no High School Musical stars. (Could it be because none of the HSM stars are kids?).
  1. Demi Lovato: We've seen her on Disney Channel's short series "As the Bell Rings" and will star in the upcoming DCOM Camp Rock.
  2. Miranda Cosgrove: The meddling sister on Nickelodeon's "Drake and Josh" and star of "iCarly" also makes the list.
  3. Selena Gomez: She's the talented rising star on Disney Channel with a starring role on "Wizards of Waverly Place" and roles in at least one upcoming DCOM.
  4. Nate and Alex Wolf: These two are the stars of Nickelodeon's "Naked Brothers Band".
  5. Jonas Brothers: These brothers make up the smash hit boy band sensation that began to escalate after making ties with Disney. Currently they are filming a reality series while on tour and will star in Camp Rock as well as "J.O.N.A.S!", an upcoming show on Disney Channel.
  6. Chelsea Staub: The leading lady of Disney Channel's Minutemen.
  7. Emily Osment: The actress (and aspiring singer?) best known for her role on "Hannah Montana".
  8. Jason Dolley: An actor notable for his roles in Minutemen and "Cory in the House".

Upcoming for Disney Channel

Disney Channel has been very busing since January 06. That's when High School Musical premiered and, two months later, "Hannah Montana" was introduced to the world!

A little over two years later, we've got some exciting news about Disney Channel.

A third season of "Hannah Montana" has been ordered (big shocker!). However, new episodes won't begin filming until the late summer, as filming for the Hannah Montana Movie comes first.

"Phineas and Ferb", starring Ashley Tisdale, and "Wizards of Waverly Place" have both been renewed for a second season.

As for Disney Channel Original Movies, we have Camp Rock and The Cheetah Girls One World to look foward too. As well as:
  • Dadnapped starring Emily Osment, Jason Earles, Moises Arias (all from "Hanna Montana"), Phill Lewis ("The Suite Life"), and David Henrie ("Wizards of Waverly Place"); the story is about a frustrated daughter who must find her missing father.
  • Princess Protection Program starring Selena Gomez ("Wizards of Waverly Place") and Demi Lovato (Camp Rock); the movie will follow a teenaged princess who must go into hiding
  • Hatching Pete starring Mitchel Musso ("Hannah Montana") and Jason Dolley ("Cory in the House")
  • And of coure, High School Musical 4, which is likely to be DCOM.
