Demi to Appear on "Grey's Anatomy"

Demi Lovato is set to guest star in an episode of the ABC hit drama "Grey's Anatomy".

Demi expressed her excitement today (March 29) on her Twitter page: "I’m so thrilled to announce that this week I’m shooting Grey’s Anatomy!!!!!!!! AHHH!!!!"

Series creator Shondra Rimes also tweeted: "Demi Lovato’s on the Grey’s set filming her guest spot. Everyone’s super excited around here."

This is a big step for Demi. It's always a smart move for a Disney star to test the waters of the mainstream business before fully leaving the Mouse House. (If only Hilary Duff had learned that! Then maybe she would be selling records and her movies wouldn't bomb!)

We're not huge "Grey's" fans (we're more of "Desperate Housewives" people ourselves), but we've seen the show enough times to know that she won't be able to get away with a sucky acting job. So the producers must've seen something in her that she clearly does not show on "Sonny With a Chance".
