What Got Them There

It's important to know that all six of High School Musical's primary cast - Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel, and Monique Coleman - didn't become stars overnight. They worked hard to get where they are. High School Musical was just their breaking point.

Zac filmed a pilot for Disney a few years ago that was never picked up. Vanessa had read for them before and Ashley, as you all know, was fortunate enough to be on "The Suite Life". Monique and Corbin had both auditioned before (Monique guest starred in one episode of "The Suite Life" before filming High School Musical. She has since reprised her role a few times). And, of course, Lucas was in the third and fourth Halloweentown films.
