Goodbye For Now

Dear readers,

We have officially made the decision to cease posting on this website. This wasn't an easy decision to come to, because we have so many readers and we get a lot of emails, so we know people come to our site for information on their favorite Disney stars. Unfortunately, we just don't have it in us to keep going.

We started this blog almost three years ago, and it was solely a High School Musical blog. We, like most of you, were so pumped for the release of the third film and it was so fun to post about the movie and the stars. That quickly fizzled after High School Musical 3: Senior Year was released, and there wasn't much to blog about. That's when we made the choice to refocus the blog on all things Disney Channel.

These days, however, we're just not into Disney Channel. While we still watch it from time to time, we've outgrown it. The hits from our childhood like "Lizzie McGuire", "Even Stevens", and "That's So Raven" are long gone. "Hannah Montana" has come to a close, High School Musical is basically over. The only show that kept us going was "Wizards of Waverly Place". And... have you seen that show lately? It's a mess.

We can't say we enjoy the new crop of Disney shows like "Shake It Up", so we don't have much fun blogging about them. While we remain committed to the music careers of many Disney stars, like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Ashley Tisdale, it just doesn't seem necessary to keep the blog going.

So thank you so so so so much for those who have read and enjoyed our blog. We're glad we could have brought you the information you were looking for.

Zac Efron Confirmed for New Year's Eve

Remember a while ago when we told you how Zac Efron was being considered for a role in New Year's Eve, the sequel to the 2010 megahit Valentine's Day?

Well he's officially signed on!

Most of Zac's scenes will also feature Michelle Pfeiffer, who starred with Zac in Hairspray. "Yeah, not a bad co-star," he commented. "It’s got a great cast."

Here's more on the film:

It's not technically a sequel. While it originally was proposed as a follow-up to Valentine's Day, the film will stand on its own. However, both films were written by Katherine Fugate with Garry Marshall directing.
Ashton Kutcher and Jessica Biel are the only actors announced to be returning for the film. However, since it's not a sequel, they will be playing different characters.
Other cast members include Robert De Niro, Lea Michele, Hilary Swank, Abigail Breslin, Sofia Vergara, Sarah Jessica Parker, Frankie Muniz, and Sara Paxton.

Sounds exciting! Valentine's Day was pretty decent, so we're looking forward to this!

New Year's Eve hits theaters on December 9.

Phineas and Ferb Feature Film Coming Soon?

Not only is Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension scheduled for release later this summer, but a second film has also been announced!

The film is currently in development and will be released in theaters!

We knew the show was popular, but not popular enough to merit a theatrically released film! That's "Hannah Montana" status popular!

The bad news: the film will contain both animation and live action. How tacky!

Lemonade Mouth Pushed to April 15

Disney Channel's upcoming movie musical Lemonade Mouth has been pushed back from its late March premiere date to April 15.

The film's soundtrack will be released on April 12.

Another Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens sighting!

Several sources are reporting that the couple were seen canoodling at the Eden night club in Los Angeles this weekend!

A source explains, "The two showed up around 10.45 p.m. through the back entrance with a group of friends and were holding hands at different points throughout the night."

Another source states the two were kissing and dancing throughout the night, with a third source concluding that the couple "seemed to be back together."

But there wasn't any photographic proof! In one instance, Zac attempted to kiss Vanessa, but she pushed him away when she saw someone trying to take a picture with their cell phone.

Smart move, Vanessa. But if you don't want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn't go out to a club! Just sayin'.

Are Miley Cyrus and Nick Jonas set to record another duet together? Seems like it!

Music producer Shakur Green tweeted that he is heading to the recording studio with the two Disney stars to make a new song for a double-disc duets album!

No word on what other artists will be on the album, but we're definitely hoping this Miley/Nick rumor is true. We've been waiting for another "Before the Storm"!

It may only be a TV performance, but we're still excited!

Ashley Tisdale has revealed that she performed a song with 3OH!3 on an upcoming episode of "Hellcats". She explained:

Yeah, I actually performed with 3OH!3. 3OH!3's on an episode, and I did the Ke$ha part of ‘My First Kiss’ with them. So, it was a lot of fun. I was super-excited because 3OH!3 is one of my favorite bands.

Hmm... Maybe they could release this collaboration as a promo single for the series?! Just an idea.

Ashley is also rumored to be featured on Jay Sean's upcoming album Freeze Time. Remember when there were rumors that he could be on a remix of "Crank It Up"? Well here's hoping that this current rumor is true!

Justin Bieber reportedly checked into the Gansevoort Hotel in Miami under the name Chandler Bing. Sound familiar? It should! Chandler Bing is the name of the Matthew Perry character from "Friends".

But that's not even the exciting part of this story. No, the exciting part is that Justin apparently had some company at his hotel room... Selena Gomez!

The tween pop star ordered room service on December 18 at around 1 AM and when hotel staff came to deliver his food, they found Justin and Selena locked outside of Justin's suite.

Miley's Salvia Bong Isn't For Sale

Supposedly Miley Cyrus has some stoner fans who want to get their hands on the infamous salvia bong Miley was smoking out of in that video. According to reports, the guy who owns the bong refuses to sell it because it has "sentimental value" to him, despite some pressure from his friends to cash in on the opportunity and make a couple grand at least.

As previously reported, Demi Lovato was able to leave rehab for a few hours on Christmas day to spend time with her family. Naturally, the paparazzi was there to capture Demi's first public sighting in almost two months.

Demi and her family went to see a movie and then she returned to rehab shortly after. We're glad she was able to see her family! Now we can only hope for a speedy recovery.

Miley's Poor Sales Due to Illegal Downloads?

Miley Cyrus' Can't Be Tamed debuted earlier this year to disappointing numbers, selling only about 107,000 copies in its first week and becoming the star's only album to not peak at #1 on the Billboard 200.

Well could those sales have been due to illegal downloads? Obviously that's not the only reason, but it seems like it was definitely a notable factor.

According to iLeaks, a website that leaks music for free, Can't Be Tamed was their fifth-most illegally downloaded album, while the title track and lead single was the eighth-most illegally downloaded song. The song's accompanying music video was the seventh-most illegally downloaded video. Altogether, Miley was the tenth-most artist whose material was illegally downloaded from the website.

Demi Settles with Dancer

Demi Lovato and back-up dancer Alex Welch have reached a financial settlement of an undisclosed amount following an altercation that allegedly took place in October.

If you don't remember, Demi attacked Alex while boarding a plane during the Camp Rock tour because she was convinced Alex told tour managers about her bad behavior. The fight was the straw that broke the camels back and Demi was soon committed to a rehabilitation center for physical and emotional issues.

Alex's lawyer Donald Karpel released a statement saying, "The parties are satisfied and the dispute has been resolved amicably and completely."

Good to hear that Demi can put this mess behind her and focus on getting better!

iTunes has released its list of the 99 best-selling songs of the 2010. And while the top ten is comprised of what you would expect (Train's "Soul Sister" at #1, Katy Perry's "California Girls" at #2, etc.) Miley Cyrus, who had a disappointing year musically, had three songs on the list!

At #60 is her signature song, "Party in the U.S.A."

At #70 is "When I Look At You", while "Can't Be Tamed" came in at #75.

Pretty impressive that those songs, especially "Party in the U.S.A.", ALL managed to make it into the top 99.

Brandon Smith "Skaing" No More

We previously reported that Brandon Smith of "Sonny With a Chance" was rushed to the hospital during rehearsals for "Skating with the Stars" after experiencing stomach pains and breathing difficulties.

Well, it turns out that was a stomach virus and Brandon was able to return to rehearsals. However, he has since pulled himself from the show, stating he is still sick and he does not want to put his partner or anyone else on the show at risk.

So sad, but probably for the best. That show is tanking anyways!

Celebrity doctor Drew Pinsky has, of course, decided to put in his two cents regarding the controversial video in which Miley Cyrus allegedly smokes salvia from a bong.

Here's what Dr. Drew had to say:

We know that she’s going to be acting out now because her family’s in trouble, so it’s not unusual to see depression manifesting as various kinds of acting out behaviors. Adolescents don’t get depressed the way adults do. They don’t get sad and cry and withdraw. They often act out and become irritable, they act out with drugs and… get in trouble and she seems to be suffering.
It’s a very powerful hallucinogen. It grows along the freeways here in Southern California. They make a powder out of it, they smoke it, they make tea out of it. The smoking causes a very intense hallucinatory high. It lasts just a few minutes and they’re very bizarre many times, too.
If I had a child that was doing that or if I was advising a parent, I would say get professional help immediately. This cat is out of the bag. This is a child who is in trouble and who is suffering and this is her way of trying to manage that. Get professional help.

"It's nothing dramatic. There's no third party involved," one source said.

Miley Was a Bully, Claims Former Classmate

Hmm, this is certainly a new take on Miley Cyrus' claim to have been a victim of bullying in school.

Former fried Nicole Mullen-Holme is claiming that Miley herself was a bully in middle school. She explains:

Miley is a liar who bullied girls and was a real b*tch to everyone. I'm so in shock that Destiny, oh, I mean Miley, wrote a book about being the victim of middle school bullying when she was the mean girl of our school.

Even though we were friends, she was still a brat. I knew her from the first grade and when she and I got to middle school, she just did a 180-degree turn in the wrong direction.

We would hang out and talk a lot at school. Typical girl stuff. Miley became so mean, I remember her shouting at an overweight girl calling her 'lesbian' and 'dyke.' Miley was a cheerleader and was with the 'in' crowd. She was never bullied in elementary or middle school. If anyone even touched her it would have been the end of the world. Her dad would own the school!

Miley is a good girl at heart but I've been seeing how she's been partying and acting and she's looking like Lindsay Lohan. don't want her to be the mean girl that she was in middle school and I would hate to see her become the next train wreck. She's very lucky and should show some humility.

Yikes! Those are some serious accusations!

We have expressed our dislike for Miley in the past, but even we can't believe she was ever this mean! But then again, Miley always has a way of surprising us!

Miley's Rep Tried to Bury Bong Video!

Miley Cyrus' reps reportedly worked overtime to make sure the controversial salvia video did not get out, and even gave at least two college students new computers in exchange for the video!

Shortly after Thanksgiving, a college student from the San Luis Obispo, California area contacted Miley's rep and offered his copy of the tape in exchange for something (money was reportedly discussed). The rep sent a man in his 40s to the college campus where the student gave him his MacBook Pro that contained the Miley video in exchange for a brand new MacBook Pro.

After a video of Miley Cyrus smoking what is allegedly the legal hallucination-inducing drug salvia from a bong, more people are calling for the drug's ban.

Anthony Adams, a former California State Assemblyman, recently stated that Miley was irresponsible for smoking salvia, as it makes "you do incredibly crazy things." He adds, "Miley is a star and young kids are going to emulate her behavior."

Adams tried to get the drug banned in California back in 2007, claiming that it had the same effects as LSD and marijuana. However, the bill did not pass and instead, restrictions were placed on selling the drug to minors. Adults can still legally purchase it.

It was only a matter of time before Miley Cyrus had another scandal!

The now 18-year-old actor/singer was videotaped smoking a bong, and the footage has been released. The video shows Miley smoking from the bong, which is allegedly filled with salvia, a legal substance in California, with some friends. One of those "friends" is responsible for leaking the tape.

We have multiple comments on this one...

Just because whoever leaked the footage is claiming the substance is salvia, doesn't mean it's true. It is just as plausible to say it's marijuana. Regardless of it being legal or illegal, it's still another strike against her name.
Miley, you've been famous for almost five years. Have you not learned your lesson from your multiple scandals in the past? What were you thinking letting someone videotape you taking a hit from a bong?

While Miley has remained mum, Billy Ray Cyrus took to his Twitter to address the scandal, posting:

It looks like the legal battles between Demi Lovato and Alex Welch, the back-up dancer Demi punched in the face, will end soon!

Reps from both parties have released statements regarding the negotiations following Alex's announcement that she had yet to receive an apology from Demi, who is still currently in treatment.

Alex's attorney Donald Karpel announced, "Alex is seeking a settlement, an apology from Demi and a donation made to a charity of her choice."

Jesse Derris, Demi's rep, stated, "Demi’s attorneys have had an initial discussion with Mr. Karpel. They are exploring the possibility of an amicable resolution of this matter. We do not plan on making further public comments during this process."

Brandom Smith Rushed to Hospital!

"Sonny With a Chance" star Brandon Smith was rushed to the hospital today after he experienced trouble breathing during rehersals for "Skating with the Stars", which he is currently competing on.

Sources say he may have been suffering from a stomach virus, but that it is unknown if this was the cause for his breathing troubles.

There is no word on whether or not he will perform on "Skating" tonight.

Demi Has Yet to Apologize to Back-up Dancer

In case you've forgotten, Demi Lovato is still receiving treatment at a facility for what her reps are calling "emotional and physical issues." The definitive moment that led to Demi's admittance to the facility was when she punched her back-up dancer Alex Welch in the face after suspecting that Alex had told tour managers about Demi's naughty behavior the night before.

Alex said that Demi had "gotten in trouble" for her behavior the night before while on the Jonas Brothers world tour and suspected that one of the dancers told on her. She "pulled the dancers in a room and threatened: 'If I find out who told on me ...'"

Alex then claims that she had no further contact with Demi until the next day while they were on the JoBros' plane. "And [Demi] walks up and punches me and literally walked away and got in her seat," she said.

"To this day, I haven't gotten an apology. I've heard nothing," Alex tells People magazine. "That's sad if you think that person is your friend."

A source close to Demi is defending the star, explaining, "Demi hasn't been able to call Alex because she is sequestered in treatment, but multiple efforts have been made to reach out to her."

Well that's not good enough for Alex. She has already hired attorney Donald Karpel, who announced, "We have contacted the Lovato camp and we are waiting for a response. If we don't hear back, we will pursue litigation."

Come on, people! Demi is in TREATMENT! She is clearly unwell and wasn't in her right mind when she attacked Alex. Can't you just at least wait for her to finish treatment before getting lawyers involved?

Demi Lovato Hoping to Leave Center Before Thanksgiving

It looks like Demi Lovato is itching to leave her treatment center.

"She doesn't want to be in the center for Thanksgiving and wants to go home," reveals a source. What's more, Demi plans to watch Miley Cyrus' performance on the American Music Awards when it airs on TV this Sunday. (Really? Is watching Miley slut it up on stage really the best way to recover one's health?)

A Disney Channel insider explains that while Demi hopes to spend this holiday season at home, she won't be returning to work until after the New Year. While Disney is hoping that she will return to work on "Sonny With a Chance" in the early months of 2011, they do not want to rush her.

Demi's plans for a third album have also been delayed even though the troubled pop star began recording new songs while on tour.

"They're still committed to her," the source continues. "No one is abandoning her. But she is holding off on her music for a bit. There are a lot of people who never heard of Demi Lovato before this," the insider added, "and if she can get through this, she will come back stronger and bigger than ever."

"Sonny With a Chance" to Continue Without Demi

Disney must know something we don't, because even though "Sonny With a Chance" isn't scheduled to continue production until January, the show is reworking itself and will no longer include Demi Lovato.

Could this mean that Demi will still be in treatment two months from now?!

"Sonny" writers are refocusing the series on the "So Random!" sketches, musical performances, and digital shorts. A slew of guest stars will also be included. Sounds like a kid version of "Saturday Night Live"!

A Disney Channel spokeswoman explained, "This allows her the time she needs to get well, without distraction or pressure. Again, we extend our ongoing support to Demi and her family as she works to overcome personal issues."

While the show has successfully produced two "So Random!" specials before (one that aired on October 17 and another that is scheduled for later this month), can it really last without Demi's involvement for long?

Wow, the secrets about Demi Lovato just keep spilling out as the actress/singer continues to seek professional help at a treatment center at an undisclosed location.

A source told People magazine that while Demi was dating Joe Jonas, 21 at the time, she "was a true teenager in love." But apparently "Demi’s attitude and behavior were out of control," forcing Joe to end the relationship. Afterward, Demi became"a mess" and "tortured."

And what about that fight she had with a female dancer from her Camp Rock tour at an airport that allegedly convinced Demi she needed help? Another tour member said that the dancer, Alex Welch, tattled on Demi for her partying ways. The tour member explains, "Demi walked onto the plane, did not look at the girl, then suddenly punched her in the face and threatened her with a slew of expletives.

"Demi’s manager asked her, 'Are you in control at all?' She said, 'Sorry, I just lost it.'"

Apparently, Demi's other struggles, including cutting, were no secret while on tour and she was getting help.

Well it clearly wasn't enough help. We're truly disheartened by these details. Demi has clearly lost her way and we hope she is able to find her own again soon.

Disney Developing a New Musical Series

Remember when "Glee" was Fox's response to the success of High School Musical? Well Disney is retaliating and trying to one-up "Glee" with a new single-camera comedy series about a pool of students who are trying to rebuild their school's theater program.

The series, called Madison High, will feature original songs rather than covers. A pilot is being written by Lester Lewis ("The Office", "JONAS L.A.") and preliminary casting is already underway.

It's certainly an interesting concept, but can a show like this really succeed on Disney Channel? A kids network cannot accurately portray high school and wouldn't even be able to touch upon series issues like anti-gay bullying like "Glee" does.

We aren't too optimistic about this idea, but we wouldn't be surprised if it succeeds big time and we have another slew of Mileys and Jonases running around!

Unbelievable. Patrick Lovato is like the new Michael Lohan. Won't he just shut up so he doesn't make his daughter's life any more difficult?

Patrick is now alleging that Demi's breakdown might have something to do with the death of her friend (and possible boyfriend) David Osborn. He explains:

Demi’s doing great, she’s such a strong girl. She told me she’s getting better. She was really heartbroken. She was really in love with the guy. Bless her heart. Apparently, one of the major reasons Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus got divorced was because of an argument that almost turned violent! Billy Ray reportedly tried to ground their daughter Miley, but Tish let the pop star go out anyways.

When Billy Ray found out, he began screaming at Tish. She locked herself in a room and Billy Ray began kicking the door, yelling "Come out here and talk to me, b****! You let everyone run wild when I'm not here! It's going to STOP!"

Yesterday there were some explosive new details regarding Demi Lovato and why she really entered a treatment facility. Sources were claiming that the actress was being treated for excessive drinking and cocaine use and that her dependency on these drugs became stronger following her break-up from Joe Jonas.

Well, Demi's reps are denying those rumors and have released the following statement:

Demi Lovato is not in treatment for drug or alcohol addiction. As we have said since she entered treatment last week, Demi decided to seek help for emotional and physical issues she has battled throughout her life."

She has taken this step in order to get her life in order. While we know many are interested in Demi and her life, we do ask for a modicum of privacy during this difficult time.

Good news! Demi Lovato is "doing great" in treatment! Sources say she "she is getting help and on her way to getting better."

Demi is reportedly in solitary confinement and is not allowed to see family or friends in order to better focus on her treatment. While the location of her treatment remains unknown, it is definitely far away from Los Angeles. Sources explain:

Demi is not receiving care at one of the Hollywood-type centers. She is at a real facility that specializes in helping adolescent and adult women with the types of issues she has battled throughout her life. Details about her care are going to remain private.

We are so glad to hear that Demi is doing better and we hope for a speedy recovery! Sources say they do not know when she will be out of treatment.

Demi's Father Reacts to Her Treatment, Family Angry

Demi Lovato's estranged father has spoken up about her entering treatment, and the rest of Demi's family isn't too happy about it!

Pat Lovato, with whom Demi hasn't spoken in nearly three years, stated:

"The pressure of being a child star] was one of the things I worried about when she signed with Disney. It's in her genes with her mom and dad. Mainly watching her mom. I'd gotten out of it myself. 'Cause someone had to take care of the kids."

Demi's lawyer, Jamie Young, responded with this statement:

"No one speaks for Demi except for her designated representatives. Unfortunately, several people have taken it upon themselves to speak out — both on and off the record — about a situation they know nothing about."

And, in response to that, Pat said:

"Demi won't even talk to me. I don't blame Disney; I never said that. I was misquoted. Disney has been wonderful to my daughter. Now their lawyers are warning me not to say anything else."

"I would never blame Dianna. She is a wonderful mother. I love Demi, her sister, Dallas, and Dianna. I think about them all the time and I pray they are OK and safe.

It's not like Demi's father said anything too outrageous. Maybe it wasn't his place to comment on the story, but he said what many of us were thinking: fame isn't good for Demi.
